In a world where the mindset is to make more money, have more power and visibility, and gain more things, at what point does one reach enough? Is happiness and true joy contingent upon achieving the ultimate in these areas? Think about the relationships you’ve made along the way. If you lost everything tomorrow, would you still have those relationships? If you’re not sure, I encourage you to reevaluate how you are connecting with others. If you answered yes, then you have done well in building your relationships. It’s easy to have friends when you appear successful, but only your true friends will stick around for those times when you’re not. True happiness and joy can be found in knowing that others like and appreciate you for who you genuinely are and not for the things and status you possess.
“True beauty is measured by the number of pearls within you, not those around your neck.”
